WHERE STUDENTS DROVE INNOVATION
PROJECTS WITH IMPACT
CORE was a student-driven organization, where the focus is on making an impact, while we created a learning path for everyone, using our projects! The focus of CORE was on creating solutions for circular challenges, mostly at an industrial scale. You could see CORE as an accelerator that brought projects within our markets from TRL1 to TRL7. This ranges from projects like Turning fly-ash into basalt like we did in the FOURNOS project, to Detecting batteries, vapes and laughing gas cylinders, like we did in the TEMNOS project.
LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES
At CORE, we were not just focusing on solving problems as a business case. They were a learning ground for students from all layers of education. In the past 5 years, we welcomed over 500 students from MBO, HBO and WO. Our secret, here you got real responsibility and coaching. No small assignments or work that is later thrown away, just a group of friends eating pizza and fixing world problems.
INCLUSIVITY AS A BENCHMARK
One of the secrets of CORE was creating an environment in which everyone feels at home. Of course inclusivity is one of those many heard clichés, for us it meant creating a space where everyone got the chances and coaching they needed, with the same responsibility. This has resulted in many students with there own back packages and stories, to find their way to CORE where they have thrived and survived.
